Yes midwives do it because they are medical professionals. I had seven during my last pregnancy. You're not a medical professional so you don't know what you're doing. They seperate the membranes and if you're not medically trained you could easily pop your waters or something else dangerous. Just because you read on the internet its ok doesn't make it Ok. Also if you usually go at 38weeks why don't you just wait it out. Baby will come when ready and I know towards the end you get impatient but you're near the end. I really wouldn't risk it.
if it wasn't safe midwifes wouldn't do it, i don't see any harm in it as long as your hands are clean, also iv started labor 3 times now that's why i was given one, this is my 3rd bby and im 3cm dialated and my other 2 children was 2week early i only carry until 38week (usually) i no every pregnancy is different but im soo ready for my bby now!
Never knew u could do that, &this is my 3rd guess u learn something new everyday! I would be scared 2 do it myself tho lol
No please dont do it just because you read it was ok. It's very dangerous! If it was safe doctors would advise people to do it. You're also pregnant for 40+weeks for good reason. I don't know why you were given a sweep. I had one on my due date to try and start things in hope of not needing to be induced. Please leave sweeps etc to medical professionals.
Im 9 days over due and wouldnt do it. I cant hardly walk cuz my baby is sitting on my sciatic nerve.. obviously your baby isnt ready to come out.
I did its a lil tricky but yes u can do it
