Also if your doctor doesn't even recommend any medication to help you then they do not see you as a massive risk, I have been told by many doctors and counsellors to go onto medication as any risks with that will be much less than the mass risk I am to myself and my child without any help because I'm getting worse and worse as my hormones screw me up more

I'm planning on going back onto medication for depression and anxiety as it's got much worse since being pregnant. I think after your first trimester any defects people claim pills can cause are massively decreased because your baby is developed much more. Just go through all options with your doctor first and any cons of pills you may take. Ask to see a counsellor as well as that may help as well. Good luck

It's just like when you take a medicine without being pregnant. All medications have risks that need to be considered. You have to thoroughly research it and read the real pamphlet that comes with the medicine when you buy it. Don't rely on google alone. Once you've done your research you need to see if the benefits outweigh the risks or vice versa. Any medications  have the potential to hurt your baby. But depending on your case, it might not. You have to decide what's best for you really, take the chance or suffer through it.

I am on the generic brand have been during my entire pregnancy I am 29 weeks and my son is very healthy. I have had no problems at all. Your Dr. isn't going to prescribe you sonething that is unsafe for your child.

I too have very bad anxiety and depression all my life.. I was on Zoloft before I got pregnant and then I stopped taking it in fear of what it could do to my baby.  But my doctor is very worried about me so she prescribed me more and wanted me to go back on it. she told me to wait till I was 12 weeks to start it. well I am 12 weeks today and have the script but am too scared to take it :/ hopefully someone can help us lol

I've been told anything other then Tylenol or prenatals can hurt the baby. Read up on the medication. The ER doctor I saw when I found out I was pregnant (we didn't think we could have kids so it was the last thought on my mind when I had symptoms) prescribed me an anti nausea medicine only for me to look it up & see all the stuff it can do to a baby. No thanks! Do research yourself!
