medicine during pregnancy

My baby doctor has been prescribing me Hydrocondone for pain during this pregnancy and I was just wondering if anyone else has been prescribed it and if their babies were okay? Thanks

Doctors have prescribed it to me for about 10 yrs. The ob said that its fine for me to take but to limit it to an as needed basis. That way it won't affect the baby as much

I didn't say she did anything wrong, simply clarifying the amount u can take without being addicted.

That is too often, no more than once or twice a week is all u can take without getting adicted, like I said emergencies only.  You took way too much.

Yeah they told me it was completely safe as long as you don't abuse them. They have me on two five/325 a day since I've been pregnant. I'm not 20 weeks 2 days. They said everything looks great and he is healthy but it just worries me. Thanks everyone for the advice.

I took it as perscribed one in evening one mid day one night. Some days iv didn't need it alll that bad but they said my kidney problems was worsr on my unborn baby ... be careful thay told me out was 1% chance ANYTHING will happen. And i was that one percent just be careful momma. Nicu is a heartbreaking experience.

My son was born with a slight addictionn. When i was 23 weeks my kidneysbstarted to fail and i needed surgery. After my surgery they gave me hydros. I was COMPLETLEY against it and cried constantly because of the fact my unborn son had a chaince of addiction. My son was also born with respiratory distress and stayed in the nicu. Drs dont.know if thatvwas because of all my complications, perscription, or he was 37 weeks. BUT he still had a addiction. And i took it the least i had to. :/ if he can switch you i highly recomend you ask because MY 3 week old is just now learning to eat and has bruised ribs frkm gasping.

I was on it and I've also been given oxycodone due to kidney stones and all the pain I'm in. I suggest only take it when you really need it because it can be addicting to yourself and baby. I was on the stronger med with my last pregnancy as well and she came out fine and wasn't addicted to it in any way. Good luck

I haven't been prescribed that but I'm sure if your doctor prescribed it to you it's safe. If you're worried about what it may cause I would ask him about it.
