I really hope that they can find a way to save the baby but I think at 18 weeks most doctors are going to be more concerned with infection. I hope that you guys can figure something out. My heart goes out to you and your daughter!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe they gave her antibiotics and sent her home. There is a possibly fatal infection of the amniotic fluid and the placenta for both mother and baby. She needs to go to the hospital NOW and let them do what they can (they can try an amnio infusion to keep the amniotic fluid flowing to the baby) and give her antibiotics in IV form. Since this happened when she was 18 weeks pregnant more than likely her baby will not make it since doctors don't consider babies viable until 24 weeks and then even a lot of the micro premies don't survive. Your daughter needs to take this seriously because she can get such a bad infection that she can die! Please get her to the hospital ASAP!
