membrane sweep?

Wht is a membrane sweep exactly, iknw they do them to.make u go into labor.. But who has had one and what does it feel like?

I had one on my 1st baby at 11am and by 6:30am I went into labour :) hoping its just as fast on this one x

I'm having mine done at 220pm tomorrow, I plan on taking the dog a 4 mile walk after that and take my raspberry leaf capsules, hoping that kick starts everything for me x

I had mine done at 37 weeks, told my doc I couldn't handle it anymore plus driving 45 min to a good hospital I wanted more notice of when to go. He suggested I have sex when I got home, of course Dr orders ;) lol had my son the next evening :)

my doctor actually suggested it I was dilated a cm. She is a more natural kind of doctor tho think she would rather do that then inductions. After I had that done she also recommended I drink raspberry tea. Contractions started that night.

I guess it depends on your doctor but I said: "LOOK, I can't do this anymore (I had already gained over 60lbs) I'm miserable and I can't take it anymore!" I guess he saw the look on my face, he knew I was serious :D LOL

Ima ask wen i go if i have made no progress cause so far nothin no dilatin or anything n im completely exhausted n miserable n can not sleeo cause of my ribs!

I asked for mine at 37 and 1/2 weeks with my first pregnancy. I just told the doctor I was miserable and I couldn't take it anymore. The doctor made sure that the baby weighed enough (by that time he was 7lbs) and he offered it to me then he told me to go home and walk. Maybe 4or5 days later my water broke

I ask for a membrane sweep at 38 weeks & my doctor told me no. & that I still had time:/I'm now 39+2 & making no progress.

I had it done at thirty eight weeks with my son. Just a the doctors finger across your cervix. It feels like a bit of pressure its done and over with quick tho. I got home that day an my mucus plug came out two days latter my son was born :-)
Id recommend it,something natural.
