military mommy to be

So I'm in the Marine corps this is my first pregnancy and I'm very active with staying in shape but I just wanna know what my limits are. Like what can and can't I do to stay in shape but not hurt myself or the baby? I don't take and supplements or anything not even protein so I'm not really worried about that.

You can do anything you were doing before you got pregnant.  I actually just had this convo with my doctor yesterday.  He had a patient who did P90X all the way till her 9th month and picked it right back up after the baby was born. But he said swimming is the best exercise you can do while pregnant.

And no activities that require you to lay on your back after 20weeks

You can do just about everything you've been doing up until 16 weeks or u become short of breath.. push ups and sit ups need to stop at 16weeks.. protein is actually good.. u need it.. and at 20 weeks you have to be put on some kind of light duty work.. its instruction! You don't do any physical tests until 6mos after delivery.. hope this helps!

Depending on your age your heart rate needs to not exceed a certain range so get a heart rate monitor and stay in range, up to age 30 I think it is 135-155 but ask your doctor.  Also lift a bit lighter weights and do the sitting down, do not squat or lunge while doing them.  Listen to your body, but as long as yout heart rate doesn't go too high you should be able to keep up your normal routine for the most part.  Good luck and congrats!

Did you tell your command yet? I knkw from what my husband told me that the girls he knew that got pregnant got put on light duty of some sort. I would ask your doctor though just to make sure since I dont know what your workouts are like. I know you can still run though.

No heavy lifting forsure. Maybe ask your dr since all of our bodies are different. I had a friend who would walk on the treadmill & do squats while pregnant & she had a miscarriage. Congrats & thank you for serving our country!(:
