Counting wet diapers is a good indicator that shes getting enough (which i have no doubt that she is) i noticed my baby had problems in the first week because she would latch and then after minutes she would spit it out and cry unconsoleably.
My milk supply still ***** for whatever reason and am now exclusively pumping for her but im just saying, you would definitely know something was up if she wasnt getting enough!
Alot of people.dont know this, but my lactation consultant told me that it's normal sometimes to constantly be breastfeeding in the beginning. Formula has a filler in that makes babies full for longer. Breast milk does not have any fillers in it. It's not that she isn't getting full it's just she will eat more often. Even every hour sometimes. And that's okay, she told me there will be days in the first 3 months that she will eat all day long and it's good for them.
Oh she lets me know that's for sure. I pretty much ignore them a lot of the time but two days in a row pisses me off
I think you are fine, don't let them put thoughts in your head. She is only 2 weeks old and she will let you know when she is hungry.
I don't eat on a schedule either. I don't get how my parents, after having four kids, dont realize that babies eat when they are hungry and my mom breastfed. I know when my daughter is hungry. But for some odd reason they think she isnt getting enough to eat because im not feeding her every two hours. My mom fed us whenever we were hungry so why is she telling me im doing things wrong. I only have seven and a half days left in this house. I stayed because they asked me to because they wanted to help, I really feel like they aren't helping me but trying to tell me how to raise my daughter
Yeah you shouldn't be worried. People get so hung up on schedules but it doesn't work that way. I'm 23 years old and I don't eat on a schedule I eat when I'm hungry and I eat how much I want. Babies are the same so I wouldn't worry.
I have no idea why they think it. They want me to feed her every two hours. She eats every three hours but sometimes every hour for about ten minutes. She eats for a good thirty to forty minutes every three hours
Well my nurse/lactation consultant said that babies who breastfeed won't be on a schedule and will eat when they want for how long they want. She said a lot of times they'll eat for a few minutes every like 30 minutes then eat for a long time and not again for a couple hours. She said its completely normal and that's how baby is helping you produce more milk but she said breastfed babies don't usually eat on a schedule they get what they want when they want.
Exactly why do they think that?
Ill look into the tea. Her doctor hasn't said anything about it. She goes back Tuesday for her two week check up so we will see how much weight she has gained
Its not me thinking that its my parents. Bella ate non stop last night, all she did was snack. Then about 11 pm last night she ate for a good 45 minutes to an hour straight. They think she isnt getting enough to eat. She only cries when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper.
You can try mothers milk tea, it is sold at babies r us and usually health food stores.
You should pump to see how much your producing if their opinion is all you have to go off that's not reliable
Greens . . . My mom is going to stay with me the first week of after baby is born and she is going to teach me to make the green shakes so i dont have a problem producing milk for my little one.
What makes you think you aren't producing enough?
