I agree with the others. It is incredibly important to discuss this with your Dr. I know your worried and that it can be scary to admit this...but honey, trust me, your Dr. has heard this before. He or she can help you with this. Any drug use during pregnancy should be monitored. If you want help getting off of the drug completely, it too has to be done under close medical supervision as self weaning or quitting cold turkey is very dangerous for both you and the baby. Please don't be ashamed. So many people deal with addiction and unfortunately that addiction does not go away just because we become pregnant. You've made a huge first step, reaching out here. And I can tell this is important to you as you are thinking about it and trying to put your babies needs first. So now take that next step and talk to your Dr. There is help out there and your Dr. can help you get it! All the best to you, and take good care.
yes you need to talk to you're doc about this for real.......
You really need to discuss this with your doctor. I know that a girl I knew was given suboxone to help with an opiate addiction while she was pregnant and from what I understand it is safer for baby but it doesn't matter if it's better or not if it's not being perscribed by a doctor and your obgyn is not made aware.
