my dating scan at 6 weeks

Hi

I had an scan on Tuesday and they said I was 6w1d but there was no heart beat. the baby measured 5.2mm. I have to go back on Monday and they have said to prepare myself for miscarriage

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Would you normally see a heartbeat at this stage?

Thanks
A worried new mum to be

I am sure you are fine, and am going through the same thing at the moment.  Except I am 6.5 weeks and they couldn't see anything.  I am coming off of a recent miscarriage so I am terrified  They should be taking Quantitative Hcgs and if you have ever had any trouble maybe your progestrone.  I am sure you will see the hb soon.  Dont fret, I am doing enough for everyone.  :)
Take care

Seriously. I didn't get a heartbeat until 6w5 days, some women don't get one until 8 weeks. Dont worry plz. It'll only make the pregnancy tougher on you.

I dont think your gonna M/C.

The doctors are just trying to make you think the worst just in case. but have you had any bleeding that would be cause for concern?

Sometimes it's too early to see the heartbeat. I wouldn't expect the worse quite yet. It's actually very common not to see one that early. I would wait at least another week. Have you had your HCG levels taken yet? If they continue to double every 48-72 hours...that is a very good sign.
