not sure if its serious

Hello, I am 19 years old and 35 weeks pregnant. For about the past two days, I have not been able to keep anything down that I eat. It has been really bad since yesterday afternoon. I have already been to the hospital twice since I became pregnant. Once because the baby asn't moving but everything turned out ok, and the second time they ended up giving me a shot that was suppose to slow/stop my contractions. I'm not sure if me not being able to keep anything down is ok, of if I should go to the hospital or what. I just dont want to go and them look at me like im a stupid kid who doesn't know whats going on since it will be my 3rd time there.

Thank you so much for commenting back to me. I did end up calling the doctor and they had me come into the ER just to be safe. I only had to stay for like 3 hours but they ended up saying it was all because I was dehydrated. ANd they said the exact same thing about drinking the water and it being the most important think. I never would of thought that would be the reason, I mean Its like I'm addicted to ice chips 24/7, but I guess thats still not the same as drinkin alot of water. Once again, thank you!

Switch those numbers around. I meant take a few sips and wait 45 minutes. Then take more sips and wait 30 minutes. If you can hold it down, keep increasing the amount of water in the space of 15-30 minutes.

You just might have a stomach virus. You should call your doc's office. Most insuraners have a 24/7 Nurse Hotline and you can call and ask them if you should go back to the ER. The number would be located on the back of your insurance card.

It wouldn't hurt to call the Maternity Ward at your hospital and ask the nurses there (since they're more involved with pregnant women than the ER) and see if you should go in. 35 wks is still too early to have your baby and I don't think I've heard of someone throwing up and going into labor (unless they had the flu).

You probably just have the flu. It won't affect the baby. Just drink A LOT of water to replenish what you're losing. Take little sips, wait 30 minutes. Take a few more sips. Wait 45 minutes. If you can keep that down, keep increasing how much water you take in. It is more important that you drink enough water than if you get enough food down because baby will use up your stored nutrients in your body. Okay?!
