I have a chart from my dr and it says the same in the book what to expect when u r expecting. If you need to know what month u r on to know what trimester u r in then u will need to know what week u r. 12 weeks is at the end of a 3rd month. Like if u r in your 2nd week you are in ur first month. Like i am 34 weeks so i am in my 8th month. Thats why they break it down into weeks so you wont be dealing with the month mumbo jumbo

40 weeks = 10 months
Every 4th week is another month
so mamaof4410 is correct with her chart for months. Dont believe us ask ur doctor

If you go by months your not as far along as you are in weeks.

Drs go by WEEKS which determines which trimester you are in. Weeks 1-12 first trimester weeks 13-28 second trimester weeks 29-40 third trimester. Look it up on any website and I have NEVER seen the weeks ordered like that. If she got it from her Dr maybe he goes by it but look it up its the way I described it everywhere.

The poster above is wrong. I've been pregnant 7 times and this is my 5th baby. I always go by weeks. Like right now I'm 18 weeks so I'm 4 1/2 months pregnant. Your going to be 3 months on your 12th week.

Actually the above is wrong ur 3months at 12 weeks! Im 31+4 ill be 8 months on friday which wud make me 32 weeks.. u count every complete 7th day as a week .. mines go up on fridays so everything 4th friday adds a months! Pregnancy is 10 months 40 weeks... 40 weeks divided by 10 is 4.. so i hope this helps cause the above was wrong

You are in your 3rd month. Pregnancy months are counted a little different because a calander month actually has 4.33 weeks not 4. Here's a chart my OB uses.

Your First Trimester:
1st Month = Weeks 1,2,3,4  
2nd Month = Weeks 5,6,7,8  
3rd Month = Weeks 9,10,11,12,13

Your Second Trimester:
4th Month = Wks 14,15,16,17
5th Month = Wks 18,19,20,21
6th Month = Wks 22,23,24,25,26

Your Third Trimester:
7th Month = Wks 27,28,29,30
8th Month = Wks 31,32,33,34,35
9th Month = Wks 36,37,38,39,40
