Am I pregnant or making it up in my mind?

I've been experiencing nausea some throughout the day. I had my period last week, but it wasn't the same as normal. It lasted about 5 days, but it was light. I didn't have any PMS before I started, so when I did start it shocked me. Lately I have had constant headaches and I can't sleep well. Sometimes I feel like I'm cramping and my lower back hurts. I feel bloated and no matter how hard I try to hold my stomach in, I still feel like it is sticking out even though it may not be.  A few nights ago I called my boyfriend because I couldn't sleep. I had a really weird feeling that something was up, and I told him I couldn't sleep. He calmed me down and then finally I fell asleep after I got off the phone with him. The next day I left after school practice because I felt nauseous and my head started killing me . It eventually turned into a migraine and my mom took me to the doctor to check for flu or strep. While waiting, I kept feeling like I was going to pass out, and I was extremely dizzy. My head was pounding, and I threw up three times while I was there. While I was waiting on my test results, my mother explained to me that you could still be pregnant with a period. I was concerned before I got my period because me and my best friend start close to the same time and she was already PMS-ing and I wasn't. Normally I cramp really bad and my legs hurt, but that didn't happen this time around. I quit worrying after I got my period, but I still had that weird feeling. I don't want to think I am just stressing and making all this up in my mind. I think I might be pregnant, and I feel like I need to take a test.  I have already talked to my boyfriend, and he said that I need to wait a week and see how the symptoms go and if they get worse, then I should take a test. Do you think I'm pregnant? Do you think I'm making this up in my mind, or do I seriously need a test?

Well if you just had your period you may not be. Although you could've been spotting which is a sign of pregnancy. Just go to your nearest health clinic and they can help ya.

I would recommend getting a test.. normally a test will show up around 4 weeks + but everyone's body is different.. I had no clue I was pregnant as I had spotting and I thought it was my period but Turns out I have a baby on the way :) .. early pregnancy signs such as nausea tiredness fatigue ect are all very common.. I experienced bloating at about 8 weeks! I had a dream I was pregnant and did a test the day after and I was! Good luck to you and your partner hope you get the results you wish for!..  - Alice mummy to be!

This is kinda what happened to me my periods are always 7days long and very heavy but my last period was 4days long &just spotting i paniced & took a test but i guess it was to early to find out b/c it came back negative...couple weeks later I end up going to the hospital after having sex with my boyfriend because I was hurting they had automatically gave me a test at the emergency room but again it came back negative 2 weeks later I end up going to the emergency room again after a fight and I was having abdominal pain they gave me a pregnancy test and it said I was pregnant so it took about a month for me to find out I was pregnant just wait it out a little while longer then go to the doctor and get a blood test !.

Not sure a test will give a definative answer, So,  I stopped by the lab to ask about the beta testing, explaining to the receptionist that I didn't really have a lot of money, and the point of the matter(positive pg tests each week at home and one positive blood serum test but no gestational sac in the uterus).

She collected a blood specimen to do the blood serum pregnancy test there.  I waited for the results for what seems like forever.  Results came back NEGATIVE.  I was shocked, and even more confused.  So I left, stopped by the pharmacist, and bought two urine pg test, and took one as soon as I got home. Within the 5 minute limit, TWO LINES,  the second still faint, but it was definately there.

I rushed back to the laboratory and showed them the test.  This time they took a urine sample and told me that they would not charge, since I just showed them a conflicting result.  10 minutes later...NOTHING, only one line on their test... so they are standing behind their result "NEGATIVE".

So, when I got home, just to see if the test that I have was defective, I took the second one that I had bought and collected urine from my 10 week old son and ran the test with his specimen.  Of course it was negative, so... the home test that I took earlier was not defective.   The one I took is in fact reacting with the Hcg hormone,,, but why am I getting conflicting results?
