no yolk sac at 6 weeks pregnant

My lMP was 13/08/10. Went for a scan at 6 weeks 1 day. they could only see a gestational sac no yolk sac or fetal pole. she said that my gestational sac is 13mm which is the size of 5 weeks pregnant and its too small to see inside is has to be 20mm( is this there equipment?) Is this true she didnt seem worried. Should I be worried was she just trying to keep me calm?

Thankyou so much for replying. I really appreciate you taking the time.  You have calmed me down a bit I have made a private appointment to get a scan this Saturday so hopefully I have good news this time.

In your case, I would definitely be optimistic.  The sac really is too small yet for a yolk sac.  If you were my patient, I would schedule follow up in 5-7 days.  If the sac has grown, and a yolk sac has developed, then you're good to go!
