non stress test please answer
Does anyone else have to take a nst twice a week and if so why? I have to. Does that mean something is wrong
even when everything is fine they can still want you to get tests done, just for monitoring :)
I have to do it twice a week because.I'm 33 weeks and dilated to 5cms they just want to make.sure baby isn't under any stress..
I have low fluid and have to have one twice a week and now two bio physical profile ultrasounds a week. The ultrasound does the same the fetal nonstress test does. Monitors the baby heart, and movement. The ultrasound measures everything and can tell you how much the baby weighs, if its trying breath, organ functions, fluid amounts, and a bunch more. Be happy you're getting them done, if something is wrong, or goes wrong, they will catch it! Hope all goes well! But they should tell you why you're getting it done.
I'm starting my non stress tests twice weekly in three weeks, I'm currently 29 weeks. I have mono di twins and I guess they'll just be checking their well being since things are more risky with twins. I've had bi weekly ultrasounds since twenty weeks. I would just talk to your doctor about why they're doing them.
I had them with 2 of my pregnancies. I was having preterm when I had them. I was on bed rest and brethren. I would also suggest asking your dr what's going on.
I've had 4 nst because I don't feel my baby move I had one done yesterday at 31 weeks and they just pretty much just hook ya up to make sure baby is beating normally and everything Is safe :)
Yea since u were concernd about movement that is most likely the reason they sent u have it done. During them baby heart beat should rise during a contraction n drop once the contraction passes as well as when baby moves heart rate should rise n then drop once he stops. I had tons of bh during mine but they never gave me anything to stop they just said that he was very responsive n doing good. But glad everything is ok. Have u started counting kicks? It really helped me ease my mind cuz i started to recognize baby schedule n knew went he was sleep or awake n it helped me remain calm when he wasn't moving as much.
Oh I mentooned that my baby was not moving as much as usual thats y I had to start doin them but now he is back to the active bouncy baby he usually is
Ok thank the heart rate was in tge 150's which it has always been and he is very active and constantly moving but during tge test I was having bh and they gave me medicine to stop them. But baby wad great and they said I was fine but I was told its just to mintitor baby
The same reason @yourstruly had them is why i did. My LO was measuring small so i had NST n Growth scans weekly from 33wk till i went n2 labor at 39.they are makeing sure baby is ok and not experiencing any distress and is getting enough oxygen
I did because I had a growth restriction. Its to keep an eye on the well being of the baby. Bad stress tests usually mean an early delivery
I would ask the doctor very bluntly why they are doing this, Charletta. Sometimes they gloss over stuff and act like it's just routine, but I agree with your hunch, they're suspecting a problem.

I have them every two weeks but Errol advance to once a week then every two weeks. My doc said it's to help them see when the baby its ready to come. He said alot of times he send women right to labor and delivery after a nst because the baby is ready.
