I'm naming my daughter Emily. At first my family didn't like it because we already have an Emmy, Ellie, Elena and Emma in the family. But now they love the name. :) I've got to be totally honest, I don't really like far out, unique names. Like Nivea which is a range of moisturizers. Or Bentley and Porsche which are cars. I always think how will prospective employers look at an applicant who is named Tiamii or something as equally outlandish.
That being said, she is your daughter, name her what you like. Just think about if other kids will make fun of her name, or will she be taken seriously as a Doctor or Supreme Court Judge.

I like nivea. But if you prefer nevaeh better I say go for it. Its your baby not theirs. My bd and I told people our choices for a boy and they didn't like them especially one of them and when we announced that we're naming our son Rambo they hated it but we don't care we love it

nevaeh is exactly what I wanted to name her, I've loved that name since I was young but I have a niece somewhere in the family with that name, I'm not close to her at all and only see her on Christmas family get togetherd but my family has been so negative telling me don't name her that we don't need two nevaehs but I told them we are NEVER around each other ever and it's about what I want to name her, not them. what do u think?  I've wanted to name my daughter that for years before the other nevaeh was even born and like it better than nivea, but just thought of something similar so I don't have to hear negative bs. they already talk down on me bc she will be mixed & even say things like it sounds like a black name. so judgemental ticks me off so bad but I don't say anything.advice???
