I've had two babies who I breastfed so breastfeeding can keep ur period away.after birth I bled for like four weeks it's get lighter as the weeks go by. First time I didn't get my period back until I stopped breastfeeding which was a year later and this time I breastfed for 18months and my period came after 16 months after I had reduced breastfeeding a lot to wean her off. Then I had one period and I got pregnant so no period again lol good times.

With my first I bled for like 3/4 weeks after giving birth then got my period lile 2 weeks later. With my 2nd I bled for maybe 3 weeks and got my period like 3 weeks later. So for me I got my first period around 6 weeks after giving birth. Also for me after each birth my period got 1 day longer and worse cramps. So with #3 on the way I hope it doeant get even worse.

With my daughter I bled for a few weeks n it got light after like 3 n lasted another 3.. that was just the bleeding for after birth. I am pretty sensitive to my hormones so I actually bled for like 8 months straight wen my first  "period" showed up. And the gap between bleeding after giving birth n my period was only three weeks. It depends in ur body. I don't think many women bleed *** much as I did.
