please someone with at least 1 kid tell me its normal...

So im watching house hunters and seeing these immaculately cleaned houses....(which my house used to be 24/7 before i had my first) as in..i would scrub with bleach and clean house 4+ hours a day..since i had my toddler i feel like my house is a total disaster area. Even if its "clean" to me its a terrible mess. And now i just want to give up on it. Theres toys clothes an over piling sinkful of dishes spots all over the floor that needs mopped, need to vacuum, dust ceiling fans, clean windows, finish laundry.....and im disgusted by it but i know even if i spend hours cleaning it..between hubby and toddler it would be trashed within an hour. :/

Is it normal to feel like this?? How do you deal with it??

my house is a hot mess too haha I have a 2 year old at home, and a MESSY bf. I would have no problem doing all the cleaning, but I also work as an independent L'BRI consultant, I work as a nanny for 5 girls, I have recently been asked to help with a catoring business, I manage all finances and shopping for food and clothes and other house hold needs, and there is no way in hell I am doing all the cleaning too. my man is kind of sexist and believes its a girls job and is always down my throat about it, but I just kindly remind him that I would LOVE to only work 40hrs a week in a shipping and receiving department rather than put in the 24hr days 7 days a week doing every thing else I do!!! have I mentioned when I am not working, shopping, going to doc appts, hosting LBRI parties, giving our families the time of day, etc etc etc, that I am 23 weeks preggers and doing EVERYTHING for my daughter?!!?! haha just thought I would take the chance to vent a little. thanks ladies

My huby learned the hard way we dont have family and I had to get induced with my last child I left the house perfect and he droped me off at the hospital at 530a.m. and went home to take care of the kids. I called him later that after noon and told him I had the baby and he said he was going to bring the kids to come see me.  I prepared all there clothes so all he would do is have to dress them. And I guess he didnt see the box I had ready so he dressed them himself and he mad them look homeless. He gave them a bath for the first time since theyve been born and didnt no what I put in the girls hair after do he just stuck tons of lotion in there hair lol. He brought them in and I totally freaked out lol. I was like what happened its only been half a day!! He kept asking when are u coming home and I jusy told him I have to stay for at least 24 hours and I could see the panic in his eyes.lol

I did stop for a few days...i got tired of my husband complaining..lol. he kept making comments about how i needed to get more done during the day and asked what i did everyday...so i let the messes pile up for several days and told him "you obviously dont think i do anything during the day..so today i really didnt do anything".

Now he makes sure to comment when the house is clean! Lol

Oh my!! Lol. I really need to get into a habit of doing those things! Lol. Ive got so much laundry to wash and fold its crazy! (I hate my laundry room..its outside no insulation no heat and its been highs just barely above freezing here.) So ive been putting it off. Since im delivering on monday i really gotta get everything done before then. My goal is to relax on sunday! (Though im sure hubby will want to go here and there and do this and do that)

SEARRA your husband would lose his marbles if you just stopped lol. The same way my husband is and I love it. Its worked for us for almost 11 years. He brings home the bacon and I do all the house work, cooking and kids. I love my life:)

I have 4 kids and a husband that I wait on hand and foot. I love it. I want my husband coming home to a clean house and I cant satnd it if its dirty. I think its like a form of OCD lol
My husband works so I can stay home so I figure Im here all day why not clean it all up. I mop every other day, sweep atleast 3 or 4 times. Vacumm once a day and I have a cardinal rule...NO TOYS IN THE LIVING ROOM. I make sure when I wash I fold right after, when I cook I clean up right after serving everyone, (i cant eat happilly knowing theres dishes). Yes its hard but I cant stand a mess. We went to a friends house last weekend for a bbq and I NEVER use other peoples toilets. I cant. And I had to pee really bad so I went inside to pee. Well when I walked in the house was an absolute mess. Cups on the floor, toys clothes in different corners and the bathroom was horrific. I said never mind and walked out. I literally feel like Im going to have an anxiety attack when I walk into a mess.

Between my oldest two 9,8, always wanting to wrestle and the younger four pulling all there toys and and then deciding to watch tv instead it drives me nuts. Exspecially with my morning sickness. I have no choice though cuz my huby is pretty strict when it comes to the house if its not done before hes home and he dont have his dinner ready its like asking for a argument. He'll gripe til the end of the day saying how all women do it when there stay at home moms. And I do believe in taking care of my house but its just sooo hard with the morning sickness, bloody noses, being dizzy all the time , and chasing after 6 kids. Ive always wondered what would he do if I just stoped lol.

I read what u wrote and it fits mine to a Tee. I used to clean every night and some in the morning. Now.... I hardly keep up. I hate looking at my house. Only time hub helps clean is if company comes on the weekends.  So frustrating! Im only 11weeks so I have a while before it gets help. :-(

Same same and same. My mum is even telling me that I need to tidy up more. I'm 19 weeks , got the three y/o, hubby, two dogs a crazy cat and a bloody big fish tank and and a 23 y/o nephew who is moving in with us tomorrow to contend with aswell. I say bugger it, I have a roof over my head, food in the cupboards and a happy family. If a messy house (not dirty) is the worst I can do then I'm doing pretty good. There are alot of people out there worse off than us..chill babe the mess ain't going no where.

Mine is disorganized and cluttered! Not really dirty, but nowhere near having everything in place (as it was before my 10 month old). I've realized something, though. My babies are only babies once. I'd rather not obsess over the house and miss his first steps or the time he discovered our new kitten (and her litter box 20 minutes later!!). Its like my mom used to say: let the little things go and focus on the bigger picture.

In short, my house is clean enough to be healthy, but dirty enough to be happy <3 we'll have spotless homes when we're older and the loneliness will drive us crazy!!!

yes your normal. my house is always a mess with a 3 and 1 yr old plus im pregnant so havent got the energy to keep on top of it like i did before. i just try to do little bit throughout the day. so its only 10 min job at a time. itll get easier. as long as its clean dont worry about toys being out. its unrealistic to expect your house to look like a show home now.

Yes, my house is almost always messy! I mean, it's not dirty but I have toys in the front room, some dishes in the sink and piles of laundry that need to be done. It drives me crazy but I can't keep up with it!

I go insane lol. Between my manly dirty fiance with the mud he drags in... my dog... and my 5 yr old girl. (Which she is a clean kid, but every once in a while a toy here and there) I feel like all I do is clean and its even worse cuz now im 34 weeks and want everything SPOTLESS!  And with no auto dishwasher its hard to stand at a sink and do dishes that never end and your stomach kicks the counter lol. So im right there with ya <3
