My partner sat me down tonight and told me he thinks that I have post natal depression....
How the hell he knows wat it is when he doesn't even know how to get bubs bottles ready really is strange.
I can see some of the things he has mentioned being true but really what is post natal depression? I just wanna know if I might need help.

It is very common it is when you start to experience depression after delivery. It is common because of the drastic change in hormones and that your life seems to revolve around a baby that yiu feel only yiu know how to care for. To be honest it is a bit harder for guys to catch on to babies ques than mommies he will get it but it just takes time. Take his opinion into consideration and call your doctor and talk to her/him about it. They will be able to tell if you do. Remember that just because you are a new mom doesn't mean you have to lose yourself. Take a day, hire a babysitter, go out with a friend and get your hair and nails done and go out on a date night with your hubby. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Well I dunno. I dont want to leave my baby anywhere or any time away from me stresses me out to the point where I have gotten angry about not being able to hold her as much as I want.  I get angry that my partner does nothing but when he trys I get angry that hes doing it and not me. I dont like it when my partner feeds her or changes her as I feel I can do it better. Im exhausted because im always waking up to any little noise she makes and checking her. I feel a little down but I feel my partner and my situation is what has contributed to that. I am a bit down because I miss my pregnancy and feel I didnt get chance to prepare for labor and feel like I've been thrown in the deep end by myself. I dont feel depressed and I would never ever hurt myself or my baby I just dont understand if he thinks I have post natal depression then why doesn't he work with me on it instead of singling me out and making out im a crazy person who needs to be locked away!?!

Most women who have post partum depression dont even realize they have it, especially the mild cases. If he's showing concern it might be worth talking to your dr about. Even if you think he's wrong or overreacting at least if you tell him what the dr says about it, it would put his mind at ease

Whether you think he's crazy or right I'd maybe mention it to your doc with all the reasons bf gave you and see what doc thinks. Even if he's wrong at least your man cares enough to say something he obviously took time to do a little research.

Men think they know everything, lord help us. Do you feel that you have depression? Are the things that make him feel this way "out of the norm" for you?
