pregnancy after surgery

About 2 or 2 and half months ago I had surgery where my appendix was removed.  My entire left side of my intestines had adhesions on it and I had a good size bleeding cyst on my ovary all in one surgery.  When the doctor removed the cyst from my ovary could that have caused my ovary to hyper ovulate?  The reason why I ask is because my menstrual cycle has gone hawire.  I have been having charlie horses in my legs at night and I gained four pounds in one week.  Also could I be pregnant with multiples and not know it?  I am not supposed to start for another week but my period has been so weird that I went ahead and took a test and it said negative.  But I still feel like something isn't quite right.  Tell me what you think is going on please.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... see, that's where I got confused. I thought you meant they took an ovary. Well, I don't know if your ovary is over-stimulated. It can be very serious if it is so I'd call your doctor and ask what symptoms are associated with it and how to tell if it is.

They didn't take the ovary they took the cyst off of my ovary.  I didn't mean too confuse you.  I have three kids already and I know what it feels like to be pregnant I am just scared because we can not afford another baby right now and we have every precaution not to get pregnant.

Okay this was a mite confusing but I think I can piece it all together.

First, you tested too early. Test when your period is due.

Second, anytime you have a serious trauma to your body (such as surgery) your cycles will become messed up. Because you had an ovary removed during the surgery, your cycles will most definitely be out of whack for awhile.

Third, have no idea if your remaining ovary is hyper-stimulated. If you suspect, you must contact your doctor.
