You need to see your doctor. Baby can get chicken pox while in utero. It will leave scars on your baby. My Dr advises If you haven't had them to stay far, far away from anyone currently with them!

I understand that as well, they keep saying its shingles, but I am only 33 & healthy. I have learned to just agree with the doctors, even though I have had it 6 times now, lol.

oh i c, i didnt think it was something routine... ya thats prob a good idea, you should pass on some immunity to your baby -but its only temporary... my daughters had 2 immunizations so i was too worried, im not actually convinced mine is shingles as there is not blisters or pain(it does follow a nerve pattern tho)... just a rash but 2 drs are going with shingles so whatever;) lol

Yes they put me on meds and they are cleared up now. Doctors can't seem to figure out why, but I get them on a regular bases (usually every 6 months in same place). He wants to put me on surpression meds closer to delivery because if they come back when I go in labor baby can get chicken pox, which would be very dangerous. Shingles r not contagious per say but you can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles. Very wierd but true.

yes anyone who has had chicken pox can potentially get shingles in the future but they can happen at any age and shingles is different from chicken pox... its a localized pain rash... (im not sure what shingles in the future has to do with chicken pox right now? ) as far a diagnosing chicken pox you should see a dr for that as there are many causes for rashes and being prego does raise concerns... you need to confirm that thay are infact chkn pox and if so you need to stay clear of those who have not had them, anyone with a comprimised immune system...ect
as far a potential side effects go before 13 weeks the chance of baby having any side effects is a lot less than after 13 weeks... there is a chance of MC in the first trimester but i would think this would be more of a factor under 11 weeks... but like i said. you neef to confirm chicken pox before stressing too much...

i have a rash that drs figure is shingles but its reallly not a concern... JennBism why do you have to go on suppressive meds? are they not clearing up? do you put anything on them

You need to see your doctor. When you're older chicken pox can turn into shingles which can make a normal adult very sick, never mind being pregnant too. So please call your doctor.
