pregnant in college issues

So here's my situation.. I'm 9 weeks along, and in my last year at UCD. There's certain classes tho that are only offered in a certain quarter, one being in the spring when I'm due. Finals are the week of June 10th, I'm due June 6th. Is it crazy of me to still want to take this one class in spring and try to get them to let me take an early final? I don't want to be stuck waiting around for another year for one class so I can graduate. :/ my other thought was scheduled c-section a couple weeks before finals but I don't really want to do that.. In a way this is all making me feel selfish too. Sigh, anyone else attended college while pregnant?

Yeah, being in college while pregnant is rough. I would still enroll in the class that you need for spring semester, and then come on very good terms with your professor. If you just talk to some of them and explain your situation, most likely they'll let you take the exams early.

In my opinion the csection is a bad idea.. Im due march 9th and have finals 2weeks after that and I'm a single parent.. This is going to be fun! If I were you I'd register for the class and talk tithe instructor about your situation.. More often then not they will be flexible if need be. Most of them want to see their students succeed.. If it turns out to not be possible to finish the course you'll probably realize it before its too late to drop the class.. Go for it! And no it doesn't make you selfish..

My due date is may 8 and finals next semester falls on may 2. I was worried if I go in labor early it would affect my classes. But im gonna enroll anyway and just talk to the professor. Its not selfish at all. Ur bettering ur life for u and ur baby... good luck

There is a chance ur baby could come after ur final. Or u can speak to ur prof about taking the final earlier or maybe later. I know how u feel about waiting for a class to be offered. I'm due in Btwn fall n spring semester n I'm debating about taking this class or not too. It's only offered every few semesters and I need it to graduate. My bf keeps telling me to go for it...so I might. Good luck

I'm so glad I'm not the only one in this situation! I already feel out of place on campus, haha the few times I've seen another pregnant student I'm like right on! We can do this :) thank you all for your input.

I was pregnant my last year of grad school. My due date was the first day of finals week. If this is your first, I don't think you're crazy to take the class. My professors were happy to work with me. It actually really helped pass the time! I'm going a little stir crazy this time around cause I'm not doing as much - time is dragging. I've heard that if you just keep reminding baby they aren't allowed to come yet and not focusing on labor your body will often not release hormones to put you in labor yet. Several girls I know had important things happening at or near due dates and didn't have trouble.

I say go for it! You'll be glad you did it.

Yea not doing the c-section, I don't like that. But this is my second, does that influence it somehow?

Go for it girl!! I'm in my last semester of college and finish this Dec...the feeling you get when you're almost done is amazing! Although I'm not due til April so my situation is a bit different, I spoke with my professors about it and they were more than happy to work with me since I get dizzy really easy and have had to leave early/miss class. Good luck, you can do it!!
