I live in California and they have a program here that provides prenatal care and care for the baby for up to one year. I did have a share of cost that I had to pay. Also the ob clinic I deliver in offers a 40% cash discount for cash patients as long as they pay at the time of service. See if your office has something like that.
Medicaid should pick you up and about a month after the baby is born they will kick ya off... But being pregnant and no insurance, I think they are suppose to pick you up!
Check local birth centers, who may be more used to people without insurance. They might have a great self-pay option. Shop around a little.
We have no health insurance either and won't take government money, so we did that. It was affordable, wonderful service, and so easy. We are going back for our second baby (due in December).
I don't know what state you live in, although in Colorado we have something called chp+. Under this insurance all pregnancy costs are covered similar to medicaid, although the income guidelines are higher than medicaid. Maybe wherever you are from has a similar alternative that could help you out. I reccomend speaking with your local social services department.
Apply for medicaid!!!! When youre pregnant the automatically approve u. It takes of everything while yout pregnant and your baby for a year and you 60 days after you have your baby!! I have medicaid now. Go your local.services dept!
Definitly try the Medicaid. I know here in Texas it covers all ultrsounds, prenatal visits and it will cover the baby for his/her first year. Good Luck and Congrats!
I agree...I didn't qualify for full medicade because I made too much but I did for the pregnancy part.! You should try and see :)
You can go down to your local welfare office an see if they can help you that's what I had to do an sure enough I qualified for pregnancy related medical insurane
