Hi. Im reading about prenatal vitamins.  I'm 8 weeks pg and have been taking over the counter prenatal vitamins. I told a friend this and she was surpirised the doc didnt prescribe me vitamins. My doc never mentiined it. Should i call and ask? Is there a difference betweem otc and prescription prenatals?

I have prescription vitamins. I would ask your doctor about it. My doctor prescribed me two different prenatals. One is just a regular prenatal and the other is omega 3 fatty acid for helping brain development. Some women need more nutrients than others so I would still ask.

My doctor just gave me a prescription because my insurance pays for all my meds.
