I know . . .   I was a bit wimp and when mine wore off and I still had pushing to do, I was asked if I wanted to try or if I wanted another epidural.  Went with the epidural.  I was numb after the baby was born but they just pushed me in a wheelchair back to my room and the feeling came back there.  No big deal for me.  Better than pain.  ha ha (like I said, I learned I am not good with pain during delivery of my first kiddo!)

I had epidural, my back is fine. But it only worked up until the pushing. labor is a *****, delievering your child is the easy part. Epidural works different on some people. If you can handle the contractions you can handle the delivery.

When they gave me the epidural it wasn't really long enough to where it would have wore off. Idk what happened but really it hit after idk how long. And,they gave me two doses. Lucky the ones, who don't have back problems :( also I was numb only one leg more than the other which was weird. Maybe they placed it wrong? (Although I didn't move an inch.)  But true it's your decision. And whatever works best for you is great enough. :)

Hello there, in my opinion I would honestly try & go the longest you can with out it. You would know when the time is right if you need it or not.
I honestly went in going for natural, but after awhile the pain got brought, I got one & it honestly did help, but after awhile, I woke up to an allergic reaction caused by the epidural. My body was itchy from the inside. Worst ever! But on the bright side, epidural did help for me & it didn't mess up my back like how some others have. Just caused an allergic reaction. Goodluck! :D

This is my first baby and I refuse to have a epidural I'd rather feel every little pain then deal with problems the rest of my life. Just go in with a positive attitude and think back in the day there was no pain medication.

I watched a documentary on Netflix, its called The Business of Being Born. It really changed my perspective on the epidural.

I got the epidural with my first and omg it was amazing lol it kicked in fast. The only problem I had with it was after the fact like months after my back hurt so bad. So I think this time around I'm gonna try to do natural. I'm gonna TRY but we'll see how that goes.

I don't understand why anybody wouldn't want the epidural. I respect that woman that don't, but why be in pain when you can not be in pain and still deliver a healthy baby no risk. Your body will never be the same with or without the epidural might as well go pain free. You get numbed when your removing a tooth and this 20 times more painful why not use meds. But like I said my respect to the woman who have done it epidural free

I got an epidural..3 actually. First one last long enough for them to put the cathider or how ever its spelt it. All 3 of mine failed!!!! Stuck in the back several times. I ended up getting the epidural head ache which lasted almost 3 months for me. The hospital thought I was lying. Did so many tests on me and kept me in the hospital away from my daughter!!! They finally gave me a blood patch after I fought with them..as soon as the blood patch was completely done my head aches where gone! And everyone started to say how sorry they were ans blah blah blah. Im now 23 weeks pregnant with my son and I refuse to get another epidural. I will be going all natural

Sometimes if you are feeling anything, it has to do with the timing of when you got to the hospital and when they administered the epidural.  I had one wear off as my labor was long and they gave me a second but had to endure the pain of contractions in between the two epidurals (actually had three as my labor was THAT long . . .  ugh).  I had no issues with any epidurals with my back even when I had the three on the same day.

but everyone will have a different experience.  good luck to you.  There is no right or wrong. . .  just what works best for you!

Hi!  This is a personal thing.  No right or wrong answer.  More power to those who didn't want any help with pain but I needed it.  I realized through giving birth and labor that my tolerance for pain wasn't as high as I thought it was.  I was so miserable and wanted to really be able to enjoy the moment when my baby was born . . .   so the epidural allowed me to do that.  My labors were long and hard so it was really essential for me.  I was able to be 'present' emotionally when my baby was out rather than focusing so much on the pain.  That worked for me with all of my pregnancies.

good luck

I did. And I have a jacked up back for it. It was useless cause I felt all my contractions .
