Bring a snack for after. Specially one high in fiber and protein. I found it made me feel way better after the test. The test made me feel sick.

Hi there.  Congrats on the pregnancy.  Well, the initial glucose test is not THAT bad.  the key is to fast beforehand.  Try to set the appointment up in the am for that reason.  Then you drink this stuff that some hate but I personally didn't think was that bad.  Just kind of this weird soda pop like stuff.  Then you do a blood draw.  It's pretty quick and painless.  After, get something to eat pronto!  

I made the mistake of eating prior to my first glucose test and it threw the results off and I had to go for the long version---  4 hours long with multiple needle sticks.  Avoid that if you can!
