I am actually in the process of quitting. I heard smoking caused u to produce less breastmilk plus the nicotine gets in there so on the 25th I smoked half a stogey, then next day another half, the next I smoked about three drags and just kept lowering it and today I havent had a single smoke :).
Im 11w5d along and i used to smoke half a pack or a full pack a day of full flavor but after abt a week of finding out i was down to at most 7 smokes a day and instead of full flavor i smoke Lights with a tar bar (soaks up some of the nasty things tht come out of the cigarrette) hoping to be compleatly done by 14 weeks and ur right its not safe to just up and quit tht far along.
When ur 30 wks it's not ok to stop cold turkey at 25 wks when I said I was fully ready to quit my dr informed me it could throw baby into shock baby has been use to that nicotine for that many wks u have to cut back u can't just up n stop itl put to much stress on both u and baby
Doctors won't really tell you to switch to vape pens, the baby is still getting nicotine and they do fully know what else they do to you. also I talked to my doctor last week and she said that it's just a wives tale about quitting harming the baby. She said it doesn't matter how far along you are you can still quit cold turkey. (I don't know if I actually believe her on that one.. Just thought you should know)
Actually if you do your research right vape pens are better than cigarettes. It just depends on the brand you get. If you get some cheap kind made from China there are some chemicals. I'm pretty sure the blue brand is only water, vegetable oil, and nicotine. However the argument that it has chemicals isn't significant because cigarettes have toonnsss of chemicals in them and the the smoke damage. So would you rather have chemicals and smoke or lower the risk with just chemicals? But like I said some vape brands are safe and definitely get a good quality one
Me and my Fiance would go through a pack of cigs in two days befor i found out i was pregnant. when i found out i was then i stopped smoking a whole lot. i smoked maybe 2 or 3 a day. i couldnt seem to quit cause everyone around me smokes. However i got pnuemonia and was hospitiliazed for a week.. lets just say i havent had a cig in almost 4 months. and im due in 6 days.... i know how it feels to quit cold turkey or feel like you cant quit. just do what you think is best... find a way to quit that makes it easy for you. chew gum, cut down to a little a day till your not smoking anymore
For me it was easier to quit cold turkey. My doctor said it's more important to quit cold turkey, because every time u smoke you're cutting off oxygen to your baby and it can cause preterm labor. I'm not being rude. I know how hard it is to quit!
E cigarettes are worse for you then an actual cigarette, because of how much chemicals are in the liquid.
Alot of Dr's say no to vaps not enough studies done stating if they r actually better or not
When I quit I just kept cutting back like this is how many I can have today this is how many I can have tom n I cut back every day took me 2 weeks to actually stop I was like 27 wks when I stopped finally w my first at 7 mos is when their lungs really develop just keep trying and trying if u have it in ur head to stop then ul do fine good luck !
Cut back to start. You might consider a vapor pen. Ask your doctor but I'm sure the risk is at least less of a cigarette and might help a lot! Luckily when I found out I was pregnant I was already transitioned to the vape pen and it made it easier. Get a high quality pen and you'll enjoy it a cheap crappy one won't help you quit!
Well for me it took me a week and a half to quit smoking once i found out i was pregnant. I used to smoke 5 times a day, when i found outi was pregnant i smoked one a day, then one puff a day. Then i completely stopped because it wasnt about me. Having a healthy baby was more important then my addiction. If you really want to stop you will. Think of your baby. Limit your smoking and remind yoursef that youre doing it for your baby. Good luck!
