really bad cold need some help!

well thanks to DH i have this really bad cold that ive had for the last 3 days and im coughing so bad to the point it makes me gag@@! ok so 2 things i need to know is can it hurt the baby to be coughing that bad? and is there anything i can do to get rid of this cough that dose not invole medications? im to worried to even take just one cough drop or anything so any suggestions would be awesome cuz i feel like crud and blah and ewww !!

Sorry you feel so yucky! I used vicks through my pregnancy and never had any problems. Cough drops are fine as well. It's when you do these things in excess that it could possibly cause harm, just like anything else. I used vicks for headaches, stuffy nose, and even coughing. Always did the trick for me, or at least helped to soothe me. Have you tried hot tea with honey? I'm sure that will soothe your throat. Also, another natural thing to do would be to squeeze some lemon on a spoon, and put some honey with it and swallow that. It will coat your throat and help with the coughing. You could always go to a health food store and they will be able to direct you as to what is safe during pregnancy and give you natural remedies as well. Oh, and you will not hurt the baby by coughing. He/she is tucked away in a very safe place. =)

im 10 weeks 2 days now, really they are safe! i just ask a pharmacist yesterday and he said no cough meds are safe and no couhg drops!! i really hope they are safe cuz i need something..

I would try cough drops, really, they are competely safe and might give you some temporary relief.

Also, orange juice; it won't prevent your cold now that you have it, but it might make it go away faster.
