red raspberry leaf tea

I finally gave in and bought some in the hopes that it will actually help my contractions get strong enough to cause some cervical change (although for all I know they have been, I haven't been checked for three weeks).
My question is how much should I be drinking to have any effect? How often? With our without food? Does my being overweight mean I need to drink more for the same result? I know very little about teas and would love any input.

I've been drinking the Organic red raspberry tea for almost two weeks now, I'm 27 weeks and 3 days. I started drinking a single cup a day as the research I did suggested starting with that. I now drink a cup in the morning of the organic red raspberry leaf tea and then I drink a cup of the #earthmama third trimester tea at night. Sometimes I switch off from the earth mama to the organic pregnancy tea, at night, as it tastes a little better. Anyway the research I did said to start out with one cup a day a little bit before you third trimester and to gradually increase to 3 to 4 cups a day by the time your 38 weeks & to continue drinking 3 to 4 cups a day until you go into labor. The research I did said this all about the red raspberry leaf tea & since I drink the third trimester tea too it doesn't have as much red raspberry leaf in it as the red raspberry leaf tea so I'll probably get up to 5 to 6 cups a day switching off between the three teas. If you don't like the flavor try lemon and raw organic honey. I was sick this past week and added a good amount of honey and lemon and it took the taste of the tea away, now that I don't drink it with the honey and lemon the flavor is very strong. I've heard drinking these teas can really help with the pain and progression of labor as well with the healing process afterward. Theyre supposed to "tone" your uterus. & even if for some reason the tea doesn't help you the way its helped other woman, it's packed with nutrients so down it if you have to!! Good luck!!

I tried sugar. I'm thinking about getting some raspberry lemonade to mix in with it and drinking it cold rather than hot. Anything to mask the flavor! It's a shame because I rather liked tea back in high school but I haven't had any in years! It's actually giving me nausea at the moment. I'll let everyone know how the lemonade works out!

I'm not a tea person I'm afraid... made my first cup today and I'm having to force myself to drink it. I hope it works for me. I've been having contractions semi regularly for days. I want them to either do something or go away!

Ahh itceas the American pregnancy association and I apparently didn't read that at all correctly. They say to use, anytime after 1st trimester, it can help prevent preterm labor and going past due date, as, well as prolonged labor, assistance such as breaking of waters by doctor, and prevent cesarean lol so now im kind of excited and ready want to ask her about using it! :-)

Yea im not 100% on that bc I read it online. But I think I read it  through American academy of pediatrics!? If I remember correctly. So I want to ask my ob about it and her option before trying. I really don't remember the reasoning for it though lol ill have to find it again.

I also got mine at a health food store  and the lady told me 3 cups a day. She also told me to drink it right when I wake up and then around noon and then again right before bed. I personally have not started drinking it only because at 33w I had to have preterm labor stopped. I will start drinking it at 37w if I have no progress.

I hadn't heard that about the ban for cesarean moms. I don't need to worry about it but I'm glad you know so you can make an informed choice!
