sac with no fetus

What medically happens for the sac to form with no fetus and you have positive pregnancy tests? Is there anything that can be done to solve this problem?

i showed no fetal pole at my 6 week ultrasound... then at 7 weeks had a fetal pole and a heart beat.

might just be too early.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

The placenta produces the hormone of pregnancy (hCG), so you can have an empty sac and detect normal levels of hCG.  It sounds like you have a failed pregnancy, or one in which it is too early to tell.  I recommend follow up with your doctor/midwife.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
