I found out today I might be signed up for medical Friday but I could still loose my baby still because it could take several months for my medical card to get here and I need it now :'( I don't want to loose my baby! I'm so stressed over just that and I feel like crying so hard! is there something I can do? I'm 23+ week's

It only takes about two weeks for your card even then you can get the id number and use it because it's automatically active

Hey IM from Bakersfield too and they give you emergency medical right away. Did you go into the welfare department and sign up for it your self? It's not hard. just go in the front window say you need emergency medical. You are over 18 you are an adult you don't need your parents consent.

If ur in California they have pregnancy clinics that will give u medical on the spot and give prenatal care until u get medical

Look even if your underage welfare gives you medical because technically your an adult you habe your own case because since your prefnant your xonsidered an adult my mom tried putting me in her case they said no I was old enouph to open my legs they said I was old enouph to get medical on my own so yea anx with your social they check the status of your medical and yea they give you an emergency medical at your doctors amd once you get approved tou have regular medical or pregnancu medical...

You live in caligornia and you quLify for mediacal because your pregnant they can deny you sometimes the social worker you get act like ******* or ******* dont let yourself youand baby need it if your bf or partner has a good insurance its best not to mention him put yourself by yourself and thats it you have to give info about him dont mention him my bf has a really good insurance but since im pregnant I dont mention him because they will charge him eveything

Ya..u dont need any card..just take ur I.d and they can.run ur coverage thru a computer ... at any clinic ir drz office..

my parents told me that today and after that I completely freaked out and I was denied at first because my parents refused to sign the paperwork that I moved out before I was pregnant I got them to sign it so they can't claim me or anything plus my address change played a big part in getting them to sign it but now I'm going through he'll getting on any medical

You dont need the card with jist your social they check if your medical is active and they have print outs straight from medical that says your medical is active and stuff I dont have my medical card either they check with my social...

Im sorry you need to research more into neglect as well. Just because you havnt seen a doctor doesnt mean theyll consider it abuse. Y sister has had three child no doctor aappointments besides her midwife to help deliver. She doesnt believe in doctors or equiptment ir even prenatal vitamins and has had beutiful healthy children with good lives. Unless you do drugs or choose a neglectful envirement for your child the state cannot take away your right to choose to see a doctor or not

Ya I agree with lovely karla..this all sounds strange..u must b very confused ..or something.. good luck..bottom.line.. u can get medicL right away..u can get care with out medo cal anyway..and they can.not.take ur baby.

Thank you guys I needed to read they can't take my baby just because of that and I'll go see about getting a temporary cars tomorrow do I just go to welfare to do that? or where would I go? I'm sorry I sound so stupid right now I'm not normally like this I've just had a hard time thinking straight lately :(

And no they cant take ur baby away!! Ppl sometimes make a direct choice not 2 have care through out their pregnancy...neglect is something very different...who told u that??..

They won't deny medical to you at all when it comes to you being pregnant doesn't matter if u look big enough or not..

I had problemz with my medical half way thru my pregnancy...they shug it off due 2.paper work mix upp.. ans when I went for my appointment they took me anyway..they told me b cu im.prgnant I get care.no matter what...also they r telling u stuff backwards...u need 2 go 2 a dr. And get an offical pregnancy test..then tame that 2 human services and they will give u medi cal...and I swear ull b able 2 get care anywhere that takes medical..and once u get medical they will retro actively pay for the bills..

in a court of law of someone decides to get a hair up their ads or I get an *** hole Dr. they can take my baby away due to neglect to the baby by not seeing a Dr. even if I bring up I applied for it and just didn't get the card to go see a Dr right away they will still count it as a form as abuse

Just because its called emeegwncy meducal doesnt mean literal 'emergency' it simply means you need medical for your baby. And what jojo is talking about is the 100s of county clinics that will see you same day and issue you medical same day. I dont know if this is close to you but KERN COUNTY MEDICAL CLINIC offers this.i just googled that so its not difficult to find one
