saggy breast from breastfeeding

MYTH! If you've heard or worry that breastfeeding causes saggy breast its not true. The thing that actually causes saggy breast is the growth of your breast during pregnancy.

Ptosis is the medical term for sagging or drooping. Breastfeeding is often blamed for drooping breasts, but it's not breastfeeding itself that causes breast ptosis: sagging is actually the result of pregnancy and other influences.

During pregnancy, your breasts undergo changes and grow larger to prepare for breastfeeding your baby. After the baby is born, breast milk fills your breasts, stretching the skin even more. So once the milk is gone, your breasts may appear smaller, less full and even saggy. This can happen whether or not you decide to breastfeed.

There's plenty of research on the internet to back this up so if you're not choosing to breastfeed bc you're worried about saggy boobs please reconsider.

That is why i think all moms should at least try to nurse because I was not even given the choice with my first. It don't hurt for them to at least try and if they can't or don't like it no harm done. Babies can always be switched to bottle but they can not always be switched to breast.

Oh I was because they had no real reason to take her she was perfect with no issues. They claimed they needed to run tests to prove she had downs which she did not. They never even asked what I planned to do. I was 18 years old and they took me being young as they could make all my choices for me. I was very upset I wanted to breastfeed her and she was the only one of my five not breast Fed.

I had the same problem. I was a small b cup and when I got pregnant with first the last few months they got to about a d cup I did not breast feed her because the hospital took her for hours and Fed her a bottle then she could not latch but my boobs lost the perkiness.

I agree. Breastfeeding is best if you are able and not to for a fictional fear is very sad. I wish prenatal drs had a breastfeeding consultant come in to talk to expecting mothers and give them facts answer any questions and put their minds at ease. If they did I bet more mothers would at least try to nurse.
