salbutamol while pregnant???

I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??

Thanks for your comments. I am going to phone the Dr tomorrow to try and change my inhaler to something else. I am just confused with my midwifes lack.of knowledge. My midwife said yeah yeah yeah its fine then a different midwife came in and said I should stop using it. Surely I am not the first pregnant woman to use this inhaler!!

If u can't breathe then u should take Ur inhaler. Ur inhaler is not great for u but its considered safe cause if u can't breathe then thats not safe either. But u should prolly ask Ur Dr if there is something different he can give u. Those should only be used once a day.

I haven't used that, but I do take a regular inhaler, steroid inhaler, and nasal spray daily. Maybe go to one you don't need to take so often? Mine is 2sprays in each nostril once a day. Or clairton was supposed to be ok too, it just didn't help me. Ask your primary doc if it's ok or if they wanna prescribe something new due to pregnancy. They are pretty good at keeping bad meds away from pregnant ladies but they also look at the risk vs benefit so if they say it's ok, the benefit outweighs any risk
