Im 12 weeks today and I dont see any doctors until the 4 November ill be 15 weeks shouldnt I have a scan at 12 weeks ?

An ultrasound is not supposed to be performed "just because".  It is a medical procedure just as x-ray, CT scan, MRI, bloodwork, etc are medical procedures. Valid medical reasons are required and must be ordered by doc, PA, CRNP.

I didnt have a ultrasound till my 20week i dont know why but my doctor said its ok .....long as you get the heart beat every appointment you really cant see much any earlier you can always get one though look it up online we got one without going to my doctor

Yes, at about 12-14 weeks the nuchal translucency can be measured. But, when it comes to the rest of the baby, at 12 weeks you can't see much.  Most often just 2 arms/legs, possibly stomach and bladder. Complete fetal anatomy survey typically done between 18-22 weeks.

Well normally you have a dating and confirmation scan between 7-10 weeks then at 12 weeks is the best time to have the nuchal translucency ultrasound for downs and trisomy. This ultrasound replaces the quad screen in second trimester done between 18-20 weeks. So you could have the quad test done instead later on.

I have amazing doctors. I got in at 8weeks and then 12 and now every month ... but I was very very insistent!!

I just thought that you get the scan at 12 weeks to make sure nothing is wrong with your baby

You can get a scan up to 13+6 if you would like to have genetic screening for Down syndrome and Trisomy 18. Typically, no scan at 15 weeks. The genetic screening combines info from the scan and bloodwork from you.

Not necessarily. I had a scan at 8weeks and didn't have another one until I was 16 weeks. I know its torture, just hang in there :)
