Some nights when I can't sleep I take Tylenol Multisymptom for night time. Its safe for my baby if it's not used excessively. She's perfectly healthy

You should ask your doctor about melatonin. It's natural and I would think probably the safest to take. It's the chemical that your brain produces on it's own to help you fall asleep.

Insomnia and severe ptsd here and I've goven up all of my meds to make sure my baby developes properly. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little for your baby. You won't stay awake forever. I know it feels horrible and you just want a little break but taking meds to do it is not ok. Those meds aren't even healthy for YOU. if you doc says benadryl or unisom is ok, then ask how much. Otherwise you're just going to have to deal with it.

I wouldn't. I have REALLY bad insomnia & my doctor told me if I just couldn't sleep then to take benadryl & it works like a charm.
