Thanks so much ladies for all the advice.the pain is going now, although bit red.midwife is worried about mastis so need to keep an eye on them.Ha cant miss them.
I also heard to get a sports bra or a binder to hold your breasts down and also heard of using the cold cabbage leaves. I did hear also that you can pump a bit just to relieve some of the pressure but not too much where the breasts are being too stimulate and where you will produce more milk.
It will in reality be more like a week or so. Wear a very supportive bra, even to sleep in. You want to keep them somewhat compressed in order to inhibit milk production. Be sure to be very gently when washing so as not to move them to much as that will stimulate them. As Melka said, frozen peas or ice packs can help with the discomfort.
Get two bags of frozen peas - they form to your breasts and stay frozen for some time.. I use them for everything - One because they stay in the freezer because I HATE peas and two because they work better than ice packs!!! Good Luck!
ive heard you can wrap them tight to yourself with an ace bandage and keep em like that for a few days. Im pretty sure its probably just gonna hurt though....hang in there!
omg girl you are freaking me out, this is what im going to have to go through in like a week or so lol! but im going to be breastfeeding so its going to be even more painful :'(
they say cold cabbage leaves work. line your bra with them.
Thanks girls.you going laugh i had a frozen sausage shoved down inbetween my boobs earliar, omg it defrosted in few mins.surprised didnt cook.lol..ive heard about.not to use anything hot.i sure hope it goes as quick as it came.im in agony.
look like bowling bowls.
Anyting cool, well be good. Like an ice pack, and good sport bra too. Dont use anything hot or warm as thats suppost to help "let down" the milk which you dont want to do!
even though my milk supply was low I think it took a week and a half to dry up...you could use a breast-binder, they're supposed to help reduce the milk supply quicker and somehow reduce pain....I have no idea how long it would take if you're not breastfeeding though. just be careful because if you're taking really warm baths or showers it can cause your milk to letdown...and every time you letdown, the body will try to produce more milk....drying up really stinks, lol. Good luck....
