stopping bcp and no bleeding?

i need advice..i was taking my birth control pill loestrin 24 for about 6 months and suddenly began bleeding mid way through my pills.not heavy like a perios very lightly but nonstop for almost 2 weeks.i was unsure why this was so i stopped my pills and sure enough the bleeding stopped.problem is that i stopped them mid way through and was supposed to get my actual period the following thursday.now here it is almost 2 weeks s/p stoppin the pills and i have not yet gotten a period or any signs of one at all.i dont know if this is normal or if i should be worried.and i am unsure how long i should be waiting ot get a period before beginning to worry.i also have no idea how to calculate ovulation time because of this.i am so lost about this situation right now.i should mention though that i have tested for pregnancy just out of sheer curiosity and it was negative.any advice would be greatly appreciated.thank you

Hello,

Allow time to help sort this out.  If you don't want to be pregnant use condoms or another form of contraception when sexually active, and see what happens over the next 1-2 months.

Best regards,

As i am unsure as why you began bleeding in mid-cycle, i do know that when stopping bcp the hormone imbalance can cause AF to be late and/or missed altogther. The reason for this is because having a hormone inbalance can cause you not to ovulate which inturn can cause you to miss your period. It can take your body anywhere upto 12months to return to normal cycles. If you have been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms then perhaps wait a few days and retest however I do recommend you call and make an appointment to see your doctor who can answer you questions and do some tests if you have any concerns. :)
Also if you are not trying to conceive it might be an idea to use an alternative birth control method such as condoms until you have spoken with a doctor.
