stress test

I am supposed to have a stress test for my baby in a couple days . I am worried its going to hurt. Has anyone has this done??

Thank you! I'm 37 weeks and my doc still hasnt mentioned it so I was just curious! :)

^^^^You usually get them in the third trimester. Its just for doctors to make sure baby is doing okay(comfortable) as you approach ur due date. They monitor heart raye, uterine activity (contractions), and baby movements. If heart rate, movements or contractions are a concern, u may be sent to ER for further evaluation and possible delivery. Take care.

can anyone explain to me the reasons a Dr would order a stress test?? Mine hasn't mentioned one yet but just curious.

I just took a stress test they had me on a  moniter and it showed she was sleeping so they had me drink cold water and they told me if she wouldn't wake up after 30 mins theyd give her a lil buzz kinda like a massager not a shock to wake her up hope this helps

Lol, all a stress test is, is they hook you up to a monitor and you sit there for 20-30 minutes and click a button when you feel baby move. The monitor records babies heart rate, and babies movements, it's just to make sure babies HR is responding to movement properly. Or atleast that's what the stress tests were when I had mine. No worry it won't be painful.
