tanning while pregnant?

I am only 5 weeks along and have been tanning for almost 6 years. I stopped cold turkey when i found out i was pregnant and its driving me nuts! Is it really true that its okay to tan while pregnant as long as youre not overheating yourself?

I wouldn't use a tanning bed, but nothing wrong with the natural thing! I was soooo tan when I was in labor the Dr asked if I just left the beach.lol

I was told tanning is NOT ok because anything that raises your body temp significantly for an extended period of time; such as tanning or hot tubs; isnt good for a growing baby in the first trimester.

Tanning beds/booths are a no go while pregnant. Get out in the sunshine when you can but the strength of the bulbs can be dangerous to your baby and to you (hormonal changes and skin changes make you more likely to burn) during pregnancy.
