I have a plan of getting my baby's footprints and dob tattooed on my shoulder, but I'm also breast feeding...can I get it while breastfeeding or do I have to wait till I'm done breastfeeding. I'm going to talk to my midwife about it but I dont see her till Tuesday and I want to know other moms opinions first. Its my first time getting a tattoo and I'm a first time mom.

My doctor told me after the 6 month mark but its safer to wait till your done breastfeeding

I recommend to wait till after your done breastfeeding. Only because tattoos can get infected if not properly taken care of. That's my personal opinion. I have plenty of tattoos myself and want more once I have my baby but if I plan on breastfeeding I rather just wait. Just to be safe. But Google it if u need to . just so u can see some of other ppls opinions. some ppl may say yes its safe other may think its not. But as long as your doctor says there shouldn't be a problem with it then go for it.
