Agreed with wayfunmommy. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if it's worth the risk of potentially harming the baby. My Gyno told me to stick to Ginger tea and don't drink soda (can affect Calcium absorption) or caffeine beverages.

When in doubt, ask a professional.

^^ as stated, black tea is fine. The issues come when you drink herbal teas. There are many that are not OK and the reasons have nothing to do with the caffeine. It has everything to do with what those herbs cause your body to do. There are herbs that can cause contractions, lower blood pressure, raise blood pressure, inhibit your body from absorbing iron, cause miscarriage and many, many other issues. Herbal teas are not all safe. Black and green teas are.

Tea is fine. They just say don't drink it cuss of the the caffeine. I've drank caffine(Pepsi, coffee, teas, everything) thru out my whole pregnancy (35weeks) & my baby is perfectly healthy.

You can not just drink any type of tea. As an educated herbalist, there are many, many herb teas that can cause issues and even miscarriage. Ginger tea is OK in limited amounts but too much ginger is dangerous. Chamomile in small amounts is fine. Black tea or green tea with lemon and honey is ideal.

Actually you need some caffein in your system. A friend of mine had complications when herb aby was born he had trouble breathing because he didnt have enough caffein in his system. So you ahould have your cup of tea and some coffee once in a while not saying make it an everyday thing but everything us bad in excess. I had coffee my last pregnancy not much but maybee a cup a month... and my baby is very healthy.

My doctor said any teas are fine as long as it's not more than one cup a day. People get so concerned about the little things that mothers ate or drank way before and their babies are fine :)
