It was confirmed at my anatomy scan at 18 weeks 6 days that i.was having a boy, so to answer your question, it is not too early to find out.

There is a blood test that can tell you at 9 weeks. 3D/4D ultrasounds can tell you at 14 weeks, and the Dr usually does the anatomy scan and can tell you then at 20 weeks.
