ultrasound, when?

do you normally get an ultrasound around 9 weeks?  my first 2 pregnancies i didn't, but my 3rd i did.  i have not had my first appointment yet (its scheduled for monday) and i'm just wondering if they'll schedule me one or not.  i don't want to tell anyone about this pregnancy yet until i have one and its killing me keeping it a secret.

i'll do that...  i also want one early to make sure it wouldn't be twins!  its a scary thought...  but twins runs in my family (mom and grandmother are twins) and your chances of twins increases with the # of pregnancies you have (or so i've read).  do you know if they can definately detect if its 1 or 2 around that time (9-10 weeks)?

Lol I understand you can always act really concerned sometimes when you do that they give you an ultrasound just to reassure you! :)

i don't know how they score high risk pregnancies, but i think i would be.  i just want to have an ultrasound sort of soon, that shows a little "pea" inside before i start showing!  i'm not very big and i was doing really good getting back to my pre pregnancy weight and buying smaller clothes and right when i found out i'm pregnant its like somethings clicks in your head and you can't suck in your tummy anymore and you feel like it just sticks out!!!  so i'm wearing loose fitting clothes and i know i'll start showing sooner this time and it will be hard to keep under wraps for long!

Because for 5 weeks during the beginning of my pregnancy I bled bright red almost everyday more than a period. So they kept close watch. I think if this is your 4th they'll consider you high risk dont they usually do it after 3?

wow...  that's a lot.  i think they will consider me to be high risk (i was sort of last time) b/c this will be my 4th c-section (15 months from the last) and i have a thyroid condition.

why are you high risk?

It honestly depends on your doctor and if you are considered high risk or not. My doctor usually only gives one at 20 weeks but because I'm high risk I've gotten like 6-7 so far.
