I had such strong cramping/pains that I actually went to the ER when I was about 4 weeks and now I am 10 weeks and we have seen the heartbeat and so far everything is good =)  Good luck!

You can have almost period like pains - this is all due to implantation of the embryo in the uterus wall as long as there is no bleeding - some women can have some light spotting.  I had these cramps/pains with all 3 my pregnancies.  If the pain gets severe and bleeding present please see your Doctor.  With the scan had the same problem saw a black dot at 7 weeks with nothing in it, a week later had a little one in it.

I went for my first scan an had some thing like that happen.  There was just a black dot.  I went back in 5 days an there was a little something in the dot.  You may just be early.  I was worried sick an then went back an heard the heart beat an was told I was 7 weeks.  Good Luck .  Anita

wait it is a bit early to see anything in the uterues however the thickness of the utereus is an indication of fertilization and the next step...

When was your LMP?  Usually, you won't see a sac and fetal pole until around 5 weeks and the heartbeat sometime around 6-7 weeks.
