uncertain if this should be in this forum

I have just recently started trying to get my body in prep mode for becoming pregnant. I went to the doctor and had blood work done on my ovaries to see if everything was normal and what not and everything came back ok. The thing is after that test was done i happend to have had two periods in the same month. I'm kind of worried considering the fact that as I've said i'm trying to get pregnant asap and I don't want anything complicating this one. I should add that I stopped using birth control 3 months ago, and even before i stoped i wasn't taking them right and i think that may have had something to do with the spotting i experienced. So Im kind of confused and worried about the double periods in the same month if you could help me with any kind of information i'd greatly appreciate it

I'm 24 years old and this is the first time that this has happend to me. I'm not sure what test i had done last but it was something to make sure that my ovaries were ok or something in the fertile catigory. It's the test that they do whenever you are 2 days into your period by drawing blood to check on your ovaries i think she said. Everything in my blood work came back fine for those test, they found no irregularities but then again i haven't been back since the double period. I've been experiencing a little nausea, excessive eating, no tenderness with all of this going on. And I have an apt with the obgyn on the 8th of may only it's probably going to be a waist of time

Hello,

How old are you?  Menstrual irregularities increase in frequency as a woman approaches menopause, which would also reflect decreased ovarian reserve (ie.decreased fertility).  I suggest you begin trying to conceive by timing intercourse around the time of ovulation.  If your periods continue to be irregular you need to be evaluated by your ob/gyn.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
