urinary tract infection

My Dr just informed me I have it and have prescribed me antibotics and a cream. My question is since I didn't know I had it and me and my man have had sex is it possible he has it too?? I know it would be pointless to take the medicine and have sex if he has it and currently doesn't have meds. I'm not sure how the infection comes about or if its contagious.

Uti's are not contagious. Trust me i have had over 30 of them due to kidney issues. Dont drink caffeine. And my best advice is ALWAYS pee right after sex, even if its a couple drops. Its so all the bacteria stays out your urinary tract.

Men are considerably less likely to get a UTI. its not impossible but since their urethra is longer than ours, they don't contract them as easily as us. Also, they aren't exactly contagious from having sex. Now a yeast infection is a different story lol.

Thank you ladies, I was just worried since I had it if it was possible he did too. We don't have much sex since I've been pregnant but just in case that moment came about I didn't wanna risk getting it all over again.

Uti during pregnancy are very normal... Yes it is possible for him to have it however because there uthera is far so chances of getting it is very low... If u have uti n perform sexual activity u should go for urination straight after that n he should clean up/wash up as well... It reduces chances of spreading uti... I know this because my doctor has explained it to me... I use to get recurrent utis before pregnancy...
Drink plenty of water until u r sick of it... Non sugary cranberry juice.   n stop taking sugary drinks it should help u keep uti away.... Take care

UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
