venting? please help

My mother in law says she wants to be apart of my babies life but she's not even close to my boyfriend she goes months without talking to him, he was raised by his grandmother she had 3 of her kids taken away from her by the government, since then she had another which she takes care of and doesnt do a good job now she has a job but still is using Meth time to time I just don't want her apart of my sons life ladies but don't know how to break it to her she told me she was a bad mom but will be a great grandma and I just don't believe her

She won't pass a drug test she smokes crack I'm just so over her I guess I'll just have to be straight up and tell her thanks so much ladies

I would make her pass drug tests until baby is born to be around baby. Then once baby comes pop random drug tests on her and if anything comes back positive or shady tell her she can not be in contact anymore. She does not sound responsible for herself and would not be around the child.

Tell her that if she wants to be a part of your childs life then she has to get her crap together.  Period. Dont beat around the bush. Is that someone you really want your child around? I think everyone deserves a chance but she has to prove she is willing.

Another thing that concerns me is that she gets so jealous of my boyfriend when he accomplishes anything and that's her son but since she been in and out of his life she views him like a friend she will offer hI'm to smoke weed with her when ever she sees him she only sees us when we go to his grandmothers house because she now lives there

I told my mom she wasnt aloud to see my child cuz i was never close to her when i was growing up she was never home and she told me she was a bad mom but she will be a great grandma but i dont believe her either

I dont rhink you should leave her alone with the baby but maybe play dates / lunch time she can spend with the baby and a responsible adult .. then if it slsoesnt work out just let her know you are not comfortable
