weight loss

I am 3 weeks pregnant and I am 5'7 and 230lbs. Granted I have a lot of muscle due to my line of work but I'm still over weight and have quite a but of excess fat. I wouldn't be so worried about losing it right now if it wasn't for my joints being bad the way it is. How much weight loss is safe this early in the pregnancy?

I was 211 and now at 39w+1d I'm 240 and my doctor pretty much told me I gained a lot of weight and I'm unhealthy. I wouldn't worry to much about losing weight hun doc would tell you if there was any concern if your losing to much. Best luck to all :)

I'm 5'8".
I weighed 225 lbs when I found out I was pregnant. I made a bit of an effort to exercise more but otherwise haven't changed my day to day life too much. I'm now down to 205, although I got down to 200 at one point. As long as the weight loss isn't "intentional" and it's coming off slowly and healthily it's fine. Your provider will let you know if you need to worry. (Ps it's been about ten weeks since I found out, I'm fourteen weeks)

Don't exert yourself too much. Just watch what you eat and do some prenatal yoga, walking, and swimming.

Everyones body handles weight differently. I am 5'7 and weighed 215-220 before pregnancy I haven't gained much Im 28 weeks now and weighed 226 at my last apt. So as long as your baby is growing properly I wouldn't worry about the weight. My dr just lets me know the baby is healthy so im good. Though ive never ate so much in my life.
