I only lost weight pregnant with my daughter and was never able to gain. I had severe HG and spent the entire pregnancy vomiting and unable to eat. While its not ideal, and something you should NEVER wish for, if it happens and is beyond your control (IE you're not starving yourself to keep from gaining weight) baby will be ok. They take what they need from you, however your body usually pays the price for it. Just make sure you're eating as much as you can and keeping hydrated.

I kept losing weight at the beginning but I noticed I was losing it in my thighs cause I have a pair of favorite jeans that I haven't been able to fit into after I had my son 3.5 years ago, I tried them on at like 28weeks and they actually went all the way up of course I couldn't button them because of my belly but I was still excited.

I am currently 26 weeks and have lost about 5 pounds. I have been staying within 6 pounds of my weight from before pregnancy. My Dr is not too worried about it since the baby is still growing and is healthy.
