what does consulting anaesthesia before birth mean!?

at my last obg visit i was told my blood plattletes are low and they are getting worse. and if it keeps up till birth they saidi cant have an epidural and ill have to have a consultation with anesthesia before i give birth! im scared! what does tht mean?

Do u know what a consultation is? It simply means they will have that option availablefor u to consult with one before u give birth. They will tell u what the process is and what the risks are and what your rights are to choose. Thats it.

My hubby is a anesthesiologist.. (: he said yup it means you come to him(well your anesthesiologist)  and if they really think youa. Platelets re to low they wont give u it. :( that would suck....im sorry

If your platelets are that low surgery probably wouldn't be a good option

so well they have me give birth natural or try to make me get a c section?

Anesthesiologists are the one who do the epidural. If your platelets are low you are a bleed risk so you'll probably need a consultation to weigh your options.
