what would you pick birth control?

So, im being induced tomorrow (ftm, 41weeks/6days) and the only thing I haven't decided on is birth control. I've never used anything else than condoms (guys). Call me superstitious but i never really believed they tell you all the side effects, specially in the long run. My options are pills, shot, nuvo ring, or what i refer to as a party popper. (its a small T shaped device with a string that you pull on once you need to change it, lol can't remember the name)

Long story short, what would you/or have you used that has been effective to not end up pregnant again while having a very active sex life.

I know someone who had that arm implant and it moved and now for her to get pregnant she has to have surgery.

I suggest the pills & condoms. I myself have the worst luck lol. (I got pregnant the FIRST time I didn't use a condom-but this pregnancy is the best thing that could've happened to me.) Set an alarm on your phone for a special time everyday to remind yourself to take the pill & always use condoms. Good luck mama !

I was on a birth control called Apri for four years and nvr got pregnant then I weaned myself off and it still took me a full year to get pregnant even while trying.

My mom told me about the "party popper" she knew people who had it and still got pregnant and she has heard many others who have gotten pregnant with it. (My mom is a nurse she wouldn't give me false info) but the pills always worked for me and the t shape thing makes you gain weight.  I suggest nuvo ring or pills because shot also can make you gain weight.  Good luck. :)

I am choosing the shot! I know someone who got the mirena and her man said that hr could feel the implant during sex.

I was on the pill. I think it lessened my sex drive, but I had to have a high dosage to regulate my periods

Before u got pregnant I did the nuva ring and I hated it I felt so gross I had to put it in when if I was still on my period after 7 days. I'm doing the Mirena because I forget to take pills and will not do the shot my friend had her period 3 months straight after she got it

Before I got pregnant I was on the pill (sprintec) and it really helped! It did wonders for my cramps and it didn't cause any additional weight gain/ appetite increase. Good luck with your labour!

I had the mirena in and never again (caused me problems and constant pain), have also had the depo shot and also never again as it made me gain ALOT of weight, im currently 19 weeks preg after baby is born ill be trying the pill for the first time!!!

Last time I was on birth control of any type was in 2007 and I was on the pill. My sis in law got the arm implant one and loves it. Everyone I know who's went on the shot has gained weight and everyone I know with like the mirena had it removed due to things like it moving, causing pain during sex etc.
